A petition has been submitted to the Chennai High Court to ban the popular serial telecast by Vijay TV Big Boss-3. This petition is to be taken up for enquiry shortly.

In the serial, some celebrities are confined inside a house for 100 days and their day-to-day lives and events are watched by the audience through the camera, thus coming under the reality show genre. Similar shows have been held in other countries and this has proved to be hugely popular.

In India, Big Boss has been conducted in several languages, especially in Hindi, for the last few years. In Tamil, this Big Boss serial is anchored by the well-known super-actor, legendary Kamalahassan over the last 2 years.  The 3rd season of the serial, Big Boss-3, is scheduled to commence on the coming Sunday, 23rd June.

In this situation, an advocate from Chennai, Sudan, has filed a petition to the Chennai High Court regarding this. He has mentioned that most of the participants in the serial are shown wearing sexy costumes and also the dialogues are of double-entendre (two meanings one rather vulgar) cadre. This would definitely affect the audience, especially, the youth. So, the petitioner has appealed that this serial must not be telecast without obtaining approval from the authorities Indian Broadcast Foundation (IBF).

This petition is likely to be taken up very shortly for the enquiry!
