In his note about this, the General Secretary of Tamil Nadu Flower Vegetable & Fruit Traders Welfare Association says rainfall in Karnataka, Nilgiris, Coimbatore, etc. have got intensified due to which the usual supply volume is hit. As the harvesting period has got over, there is dip in supply of veggies like brinjal. These have altogether accounted to the increase in rates of vegetables. It is likely that the vegetable rates will remain high for one more month.
