Whenever we take a food item, it is better to be aware of its properties and take accordingly. Otherwise, there is a huge risk involved – sometimes even leading to loss of life as well! In this regard, most of us take the pills/tablets for illness cure, mostly in the wrong manner!  This wrong procedure is inherent with serious risks!

Let us get aware of the right and recommended procedure to take pills with hot or cold water!

Generally, liquids act as the medium to take these medicinal tablets/pills to the various organs in the body. Out of the liquids, water plays a major role! There are different kinds of tablets! Depending on the properties of the tablet, the right kind of water with the right temperature to swallow must be taken.

For example, there are capsules, very powerful tablets, and the normal ordinary painkiller/fever tablets. Each one of these has to be taken with the water at the right temperature!

As for the tablets containing vitamin D and Calcium, they can be taken with milk. However, milk is not suited to all kinds of tablets.

Hot water cannot be used for some kinds of tablets. Especially, when we take capsules, we should not use hot water! Using hot water would lead to the capsule getting stuck on the tongue.

While taking the tablets such as fever-curing paracetamol, lukewarm water can be used to get the tablets dissolved quickly.

Some of us have the habit of chewing the tablet just like chocolates. However, this is wrong! Whenever we make tablets, a sufficient quantity of liquid (water) is a must! Otherwise, the tablets might not be transported from the mouth to the stomach. This would lead to a digestion problem and also prevent the tablet from doing its function!

Some of us have the habit of taking tablets right immediately after the eating session. This is also wrong! It may lead to harmful consequences. So, it is better to take the tablets 15 minutes after the eating session.

Thus, while taking tablets at whatever time, it is advisable to use medium water (not too hot or too cold)!
