Chennai Water Board Urges Consumers to Pay Water and Sewerage Tax by March 31 to Avoid Disruption

The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) has reminded its consumers to pay their drinking water and sewerage tax by March 31 to avoid surcharge, disconnection and confiscation. In a recent release, the department has requested consumers to pay their dues online using various modes like credit or debit card, UPI, Net banking or QR, through the website provided by the board.

The board has also made arrangements for consumers to pay their dues at all area offices or regional offices, and collection centers at the head office on all working days, including Saturdays and the last Sunday of the month, from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm. Payment can be made by cheque or cash at the collection centers operating at the regional offices and head office.
The board has further emphasized the importance of paying the dues on time to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and sewerage services to the consumers. The consumers are urged to comply with the deadline and make the payment at the earliest to avoid any inconvenience.
