Special Sandhai on the occasion of Pongal in Koyambedu wholesale vegetable, fruit and flower supermarket! Until; 17th January

It is a tradition to organize a special Sandhai (market) at the Koyambedu Wholesale Supermarket for vegetables, fruits, and Flowers on the occasion of the important festival of Pongal for 10 days on behalf of the CMDA (Chennai Metro Development Authority)!
As such, the special Sandhai for this year (2023) is also organized on behalf of the Chennai Metro Development Authority (CMDA) at the `A` Road vehicle Parking Area (with an area of about 3 acres) located at the back of the Koyambedu wholesale market!
In this special Sandhai, sugarcane, young plantain plant, turmeric bunches, ginger bunch and earthen pots, and plantain leaves will be on sale!
The auction for setting up stalls for sales and for charging the vehicles entering the special market is to be conducted on behalf of the Koyambedu Wholesale Supermarket Administration!
This Pongal special Super Sandhai is scheduled to be until 17th January. The Chief Executive Officer of the Koyambedu Market, Santhi, shared: The special Sandhai at Koyambedu wholesale Market commenced at midnight on 9th January (yesterday, Thursday)!
Arrangements have been made in such a way that the public and vendors can visit the market and buy items without any hardships!
To prevent any traffic congestion, safety traffic police have been deployed to regulate the traffic.
We have appointed special officers in the market for monitoring and prevent any problems/issues.
Any excessive charging by the seller can be reported by the buyers to this special officer! Immediate corrective action will be taken!
We appeal to the trader`s whole-hearted cooperation for the smooth functioning of this special sales!"
The President of the Koyambedu Wholesale and Retail Traders` Association Muthukumar shared:
"As the Wholesale Market administration has accepted the appeal of the traders and is organising this special Sandhai, the traders are delighted!
With this approach, the setting of shops by outsiders will be prevented! Only those who have the right to set up shop will trade in this special Sandhai! With this arrangement, the traders here will benefit a lot!"
