Shocking!! Chennai residents suffering from floods again - Madipakkam and its neighbourhood residents worried !!

Several localities belonging to the Chennai city were flooded once again due to the heavy rains now.

For the last 3 days, Chennai has been receiving heavy rains is known to us. Till yesterday 8:30am in the morning, Meenambakkam recorded 7cm of trains and MGR Nagar received 6cms of rain. Localities in southern Chennai like Mylapore, Taramani, Sholinganallur and Nungambakkam received 5cm of rain each.

It is known that yesterday several places recorded heavy rains and due to this RMC has issued a red alert. The heavy rains have flooded important places in Chennai such as Pulianthope, Thiru vi- ka Nagar, Theyagaraya Nagar plus Anna Salai based Ritchie Street, police commissioner’s office in Egmore and in K.K. Nagar etc and water stagnation has been creating issues for the public here.

The authorities belonging to GCC have been busy in pumping out water from several roads in Chennai now. It is learnt that Mr Gagandeep Singh Bedi, Chennai corporation commissioner held discussions with officials belonging to the Chennai corporation. He discussed various measures that were needed to be taken in the upcoming heavy rains predicted by RMC.

Continuous heavy rains with strong winds were witnessed in localities like Madipakkam, Puzhuthivakkam etc from the day before yesterday itself. Heavy rains in Ram Nagar have led to water stagnation on the Velachery- Madipakkam road. This led to temporary suspension of the MTC buses here. The residents belonging to Madipakkam are now highly concerned and worried about the Madipakkam Eri that is getting filled up at a fast rate.
