For the first time ever-A new ward to treat black fungus cases inaugurated in this Chennai hospital

As if the issues caused by the Covid-19 infection are not enough, people are finding it tough now due to a new issue in TN. Black fungus is now creating huge fear in the minds of many now.
The shocking information is that till now around 400 cases of black fungus or mucormycosis cases have been identified in TN. This is worrying many health experts now. On Friday, at the popular Omandurar Medical College Hospital in Chennai, a separate ward with 6 beds was opened for the first time to treat black fungus cases. Health minister of TN, Mr. M. Subramanian inaugurated the facility at this hospital.
It must be noted that through a government order dated 26th May TN constituted a 10 member Task Force Committee with DME Dr. R. Narayana Babu as chairman. It is now revealed that this committee would help the health department on issues related to mucormycosis, its treatment and control measures etc.
