These important persons do not need an e-pass now to travel in Chennai

It has become mandatory or compulsory to carry e-pass for the purpose of travel in the city of Chennai due to the total lockdown imposed now.
The news that has now come out is that doctors, health workers, lawyers, journalists, state/central govt employees, essential commodities staff, secretariat staff, embassy and consulate officials have been exempted from carrying an e-pass for travelling in Chennai. This was announced by the police commissioner for Chennai Mr. Shankar Jiwal. It is said that the above mentioned persons must show their ID cards when demanded by the police.
Despite showing their IDs, if anyone is stopped by the police personnel then he or she could contact Mr. M.S. Baskar, public relations officer. His contact number is 9498130011 and the landline number for contact is 044 23452320.
The police personnel were busy yesterday checking the e-passes of those who travelled and this created chaos on several roads belonging to the city of Chennai.
