Bringing books from outside and reading them inside would be possible in the famous Connemara library in Egmore in Chennai in the future. This is making news now.
It is well known that Anna Centenary library has its own book reading section and a similar one would be established in the Connemara library also. This was mentioned by the school education minister Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi in the Assembly yesterday. He spoke about the demands for grants for the school education department.
Information collected is that the children`s section and civic service section would be modernised and their own book reading section would be established. For this, an amount of Rsw 5 cr would be spent.
It was explained by an official from the directorate of public libraries that the children`s section is having books only at present and attractive amenities like small chairs and tables would be put for them. He added that storytelling events would be held for the sake of the children.
To help the civil services aspirants to prepare for the exams, the book reading section would be fully air conditioned and there would be enough furniture. The sensational piece of information is that Connemara library has a huge collection of more than 7 lakhs books.
