Rains to persist for 2 more days in Tamil Nadu!

The depression zone formed over the Bay of Mannar has started weakening. Due to this, the rains in the State of Tamil Nadu will persist for 2 more days.

The Director of the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre S. Balachandran shared regarding this:

The depression zone which formed over the Bay of Mannar stabilised there and prevailed there until Friday (4th December) evening.  This weakened and transformed into a low-pressure zone and drifted towards west-southwest. This will weaken further and is expected to drift towards west/southwest via Ramanathapuram towards the Kerala Region.

Due to this, there are prospects for medium widespread rain several places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for 2 days on Saturday (today, 5th December) and Sunday (6th December)). There prospects for heavy rain with thunder in the districts of Nilgiri and Dindigul today (Saturday, 5th December) and prospects for heavy rain with thunder in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Thiruvallur, Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Salem.

Apart from this, there are prospects for mild to medium widespread rain in the other districts and Puducherry and Karaikkal.

As regards the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs, there are prospects for mild widespread rain on Saturday (today, 5th December). There are prospects for intermittent heavy rain as well!
