Tejas Express from Chennai Egmore to Madurai: Fare details

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, inaugurated the services of the high-speed Tejas Express between Chennai and Madurai on 28th February.
Tejas Express (22671) departs from Chennai Egmore at 6.00 AM and reaches Madurai at 12.30 PM. Similarly, Tejas Express (22672) departs from Madurai at 3.00 PM and reaches Chennai Egmore at 9.30 PM. The train stops at 2 stations only – Trichy and Kodaikkanal.
Tejas Express operates on all days during the week except Thursday. As the train travels at a speed of 110 kmph, it reaches the destination in 6.5 hours.
The train-fare details:
- Chennai-Trichy A/C coach – Rs. 690
- 1st Class deluxe – Rs. 1485
- Chennai-Madurai A/C – Rs. 895
- 1st Class Deluxe – Rs. 1840
The fares for the onward and return journeys are the same.
Only good seating arrangements are provided in this rain. No berth facility is available!
