The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) undertakes the responsibility of recruiting for different vacant posts in various departments of the State Government of Tamil Nadu by conducting recruitment in different stages for different cadres of vacancies through competitive written examinations and interviews.

TNPSC has now released the modified timetable of competitive examinations for different groups of vacant posts. In this revised schedule, certain new announcements have been made. The new posts added include: Assistant Prison Officer (for males and females), Assistant Managers (Law) in the Tamil Nadu Government State Transport Corporation, Research Assistants (in Geography, Economics, and Social Science), Vacant posts in the Tamil Nadu Urban/City Administration, and Assistant Training Officer (Shorthand-English).

Further, technical posts have been added that require education up to the 10th standard, ITI Industrial Training Institutes courses offering 2-year training courses on various trades including electrician, carpentry, welding, wireman, plumber, etc., specialization courses (CA/CMA (ICWA)), Junior Analysts in medical diagnostic laboratories, and lodge/hostel supervisors and Physical Exercise Officers.

New technical posts that require graduation in the concerned faculties with related specialization have also been included, such as Assistant Management Officer, Assistant Horticultural Officer, Laboratory Assistants (in Tamil Nadu Forensic Services Post), and District Child-care and Security Officer.

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has further informed that announcements for vacancies will also be released this year for the posts of Accounts Manager, Accounts Officer, and Junior Scientific Officer.

It is worth noting that despite a large number of appeals demanding that the Group-IV competitive examinations be conducted before the end of 2023 and that an announcement of Group-2 and Group-2A Competitive Examinations be made, these have not been included in this revised timetable.
