With the launch of the book ‘Healer: Dr. Prathap Chandra Reddy and the Transformation of India’, the readers get a fair look into the life and events of Dr. Pratap Reddy, the founder of Apollo Hospitals.
The reading public got a peek into the life of a young man who graduated from Stanley Medical College as a doctor and went on to build a chain of hospitals, Apollo Hospitals, across the country in a span of 30 years.
Several mischievous incidents during the college period were read out during the launch of the book. The author read the epilogue.
It took 2 years to write. Author Devidutt Pattanaik paid rich tributes to Dr. Reddy. He observed that everybody has a capability which comes to fore when prompted.
Dr. Reddy belonged to a small village in the erstwhile Madras Presidency. He studies in Stanley Medical College. After a long stint of work abroad, he returned to India to realise his ambitions.
