Heart Failure Clinic launched in Chennai

State Health Minister C Vijaya Bhaskar recently inaugurated a centre of excellence for clinical management of heart failure The Heart Failure Clinic, along with a CME programme, was launched by Dr K M Cherian’s Frontier Lifeline Hospital and the Indian Medical Association.
Dr A G Narayanaswamy, senior consultant cardiologist, Frontier Lifeline Hospital, said the clinic would offer an effective alternative to the current cycle of acute care management from complete patient evaluations, education and regular monitoring to immediate response to patients’ needs.
The clinic is being set up in the wake of a global burden of diseases due to heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). These are increasing due to a sharp rise in health transition experienced by the developing countries.
