Breakfast has to satisfy two main things like making us feel full throughout the day and providing us with energy. Most of us eat carbohydrate based foods for the first meal or breakfast without knowing the truth that it could release chemicals such as cortisol and dopamine. These chemicals would make us feel lethargic and lazy and would lead to weight gain.

It is worthy to mention here that to cope up with the busy day our body would need enough energy. For this reason, the breakfast which we eat after waking up must have proteins plus vitamins, a variety of nutrients like fruits, nuts etc.

Various reasons why we must not eat carbohydrate based foods for the breakfast are

Reduces insulin sensitivity:
The insulin sensitivity in us would get reduced if we eat carbohydrate foods during breakfast. This would in turn lead to fat deposition in our stomach. So, please be careful.

Reduces leptin sensitivity;
It must be noted that the main function of leptin is to help regulate long term balance between body`s food intake and energy expenditure. It is believed that a breakfast with lots of carbohydrates could reduce leptin sensitivity in us. By this, we would feel dissatisfied and we would eat more food.

Increases appetite:
It is noteworthy that eating breakfast with carbohydrate foods would increase the Ghrelin response. This Ghrelin hormone is a hunger hormone that gets released by the stomach when the brain gets a signal that it is time to eat. Growth hormones would get released by the pituitary glands in us and this is signalled by Ghrelin. Point is that the growth hormones would play a role in insulin release.

Decreases glycemic reaction:
There would be a change in the blood glucose content when we eat carbohydrate foods during breakfast. This is mainly because of a decrease in the glycemic index.

Leads to gut dysbiosis:
When the bacteria that is present in the GI tract become unbalanced and leads to water retention and bloating then gut dysbiosis takes place. It must be noted that gut dysbiosis is an imbalance of gut microbiota and is related to unhealthy outcomes.
