The Police Department has cautioned the public that immediate action will be taken from 23rd May on those driving 2-wheelers or sitting in the pillion without wearing the helmets!!
At this juncture, it is worth remembering that from 1st January to 15th May, 98 PERSONS HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES IN ACCIDENTS INVOLVING 2-WHEELERS. 841 PERSONS WERE SERIOUSLY INJURED!!
Out of the 98 persons who died, 80 PERSON WERE DRIVING WITHOUT WEARING A HELMET! PILLION RIDERS WERE 18 PERSONS!
THIS DATA IS SUFFICIENT ENOUGH TO GET THE WARNING AND THE BASIC NECESSITY TO WEAR A HELMET WHILE DRIVING OR TRAVELLING ON A 2-WHEELER!
As such, as an immediate measure to reduce the number of 2-wheeler accidents as well as loss of lives, the police have announced that stringent immediate action will be taken from 23rd May on those driving 2-wheelers without wearing a helmet or on the pillion!!
