Air pollution has been creating many issues for the public and steps are being taken to reduce or prevent this. In addition to the air pollution issue, the prices of fuels like petrol/diesel have skyrocketed also. An alternative mode of transport is the only solution for this now.
The superb piece of information is that by January in 2022 the work on operating 100 electric buses on various routes in Chennai city would be started. At 6 different places, charging stations would be installed. Truth is that the government of TN would be protecting the environment and would be operating the electric buses for the commuters. In the first phase, TNSTC would operate 500 electric buses.
From January onwards, 100 electric buses would become operational in Chennai. it was mentioned by some officials belonging to the department of transportation that on behalf of state transportation business 500 electric buses would be operated. The officials revealed that 100 electric buses would be operated on behalf of Chennai municipal transport corporation on different routes.
Truth is that the electric buses routes have been selected based on what majority of travelers choose. The Studies regarding the charging centers in Chennai have been completed. It is learnt that work has started in 6 workshops including Chennai Pallavan Illam Central Workshop, Thiruvanmiyur and Adyar. The number of electric buses and charging stations would be increased progressively. Point to be noted is that there are also talks regarding expanding electric buses services throughout the state of Tamil Nadu in various cities.
