After a good long run, we would feel the adrenaline rush and energy isn’t it!!

This would make us feel that we have utilized the day properly. Many of us after a long run would go home, take a bath and get ready to do the routine activities. Truth is that the efforts we take for long running could become wasted if we do certain activities.

For getting most out of the running session we must avoid these common routines.

Avoid dehydrating:
It is important that we must hydrate before and after doing the physical activity. Our running would become less effective if we don’t hydrate. It is known that after a long run we sweat profusely and lose the body fluids. It is possible to rebuild our muscles by having a nourishing meal or by hydrating. Avoid just sitting:

The heart rate would increase and we would feel tired after a long run. It is necessary that we must have rest to bring the heart rate and breathing to normal. It is not good to lie down or simply sit after a long run. Indulging in some light activity is necessary. By doing some activity, the blood inside would be moving and we would be able to recover fast.

Avoid staying in the same clothes:
After running, we could feel lethargic and that is normal. We must not be in the same sweaty clothes because of the fact that the bacteria present in the sweat could multiply and would result in skin issues etc. We might also get cold by wearing the same wet clothes. It is important to change sweaty clothes after a long run to avoid bacterial growth.

Avoid doing heavy chores:
It is worthy to mention that after a long run we must not do heavy chores as it might make us more tired. The tired muscles would require some time for rest and doing heavy chores after running would strain the muscles. We could feel more exhausted.

Avoid taking hot water bath:
We must avoid taking a hot water bath after a long running session. We might feel that the hot water bath might be good to unwind and relax the aching muscles. The truth is that it would not help much. Only after the body starts paining, a hot water bath would provide relaxation. Therefore, we must combine both hot treatments as well as cold treatments.
