Ban on the election of South India Film Artistes Association

Posted on: 19/Jun/2019 4:07:56 PM
The Registrar of Associations has released a sensational order banning the conducting of the elections in the progress of the South India Film Artistes Association.

However, he has proceeded to give an explanation for this sudden action. His notification mentions:

With the compilation of data of the list of members for the year 2017-18 having been submitted to the South Chennai District Registrar, it is rather tentative to decide on what basis (which year base) this has to be reviewed and analysed.

Further, as per the 65th Year Meeting conducted on 19th August 2018(for the period 2017-18), the tenure of the administrators have got completed in October 2018.

A request was made to the General Council to postpone the election from November 2018 till the construction activities for the association gets completed and the election conducted after that in April 2019. This was approved as well.

However, the elections were not announced as per the above time stipulation and the announcement on elections was made later. So, as such, with the present administrators of the Association whose tenure is already over, a review has to be taken and analysed whether it is correct to follow the decision taken by them and announced!

As such, it would not be advisable to conduct the South Indian Film Artists Association Election at present.

So, until the above issue is resolved, it is ordered that the activities on the election be stopped.
