The 2nd Phase of parliamentary elections gets completed

 In the 2nd Phase of the parliamentary elections conducted in 11 states and 1 Union Territory yesterday (18th April), 67% of voting has been registered.

The 1st Phase of the parliamentary election was conducted on 11th April. The 2nd Phase was for 95 parliamentary seats and the voters did their prime duty of voting by standing and waiting in long queues. A maximum percentage of voting, 76.43% was registered in West Bengal. There was disturbance/tension in 1 or 2 places. In the assembly constituency of Chopra, police had to indulge in beating people who blocked the roads. At that time, rural bombs were thrown at the police who then used tear bombs to disperse the crowd.

On the minimum registration of vote, an average of 45.54% was recorded in 2 constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir.

Odisha state recorded 58.38% voting. As EVMs failed in 4 polling booths, revoting was done.

Karnataka recorded 67.88%. In Mandia Constituency where the Chief Minister H D Kumarasamy’s son Nikhil is contesting with actress Sumalatha recorded 72.97% voting. However, the Bangalore central constituency recorded only 45.34% votes. Actor Prakash Raj is contesting here as an independent.
