A good cup of tea performs the essential function of ensuring the optimum functioning of the digestion system and also curing complaints such as cold, cough, and fever.

However, it is generally observed there has been a recent change in the making of tea which is getting popular – adding more milk to enhance the taste! This has become globally popular and thus helped a substantial increase in the number of global tea drinkers!

The preparation method given in the 1st para lent a medicinal tint to the tea whereas addition of milk, in the latest trend, has made a change.

A cup of tea helps rid of tension. It enhances the functioning of the metabolism system. It also helps check and keep under control certain negative aspects such as blood pressure (high), diabetes, and cholesterol.

A doctor, who is the head of the Diet Guidance Council, strongly recommends that tea should not be taken 1 hour before and 1 hour after the meals session. A chemical ingredient known as tannin, present in tea/coffee, prevents absorption of iron by the metabolism system.

Especially when milk is added to tea, it is more harmful than any beneficial factors. Especially it affects the digestion system.  Further, taking tea in excessive quantities can harm the activities in the liver/intestine and creates excess acidity and swelling.

This affects the colon and the healthy functioning of the digestion system. So, it is strongly recommended that the tea-lovers must avoid taking tea immediately before or after the meals session which would be beneficial for better health!
