Chennai Metro City: Flower Show for 3 days - at Semmozhi Poonga!

"Horticultural plants and crops are grown on 15.88 Lakh Acres in the State of Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, 79 Government Horticultural Farms and 24 Parks are being maintained.

Summer Festivals and Flower Shows are regularly organized in Nilgiri, Yercaud, and Kodaikanal. Additionally, the Sprinkle Festival is conducted in Kutralam, and the `Valvil Ori` festival is conducted in Kolli Malai in other districts.

The 3rd Flower Show, conducted last year in Kalaivanar Arangam, Chennai Metro City, received an overwhelming response from the public!

This year (2023), the Flower Show is being organized for 3 days from the 3rd of June to the 6th of June in Semmozhi Poonga.

In this flower show, several figures made of traditional flowers grown in Tamil Nadu will be displayed.

2.5 Lakh flowers and 250 kg of flower petals are used and displayed in this Flower Show.

The flowers have been transported from Krishnagiri, Nilgiri, Madurai, Kanyakumari, and Kodaikanal.

On the occasion of the Centenary Celebration of the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi, the 2nd Flower Show, organized by the Department of Horticulture and Mountain Plants at Semmozhi Poonga in Chennai Metro City, will be inaugurated at 9:00 today (Saturday, 3rd June). The Flower Show will run for 3 days from the 3rd to the 5th of June.

Citizens interested in visiting this flower show can obtain tickets at the website www.tnhorticulture.tn.gov.in. To prevent overcrowding, citizens are requested to procure the tickets ONLINE and are warmly welcome to visit the Flower Show.

Arrangements have been made for parking vehicles at Stella Maris College nearby.
