Sensational advantages of installing PSD in metro trains & metro stations in Chennai revealed!!

Safety of a passenger is very important especially in the driverless trains and for this purpose CMRL or Chennai Metro Rail Limited would be installing platform screen doors or PSD.
By preventing cool air from escaping thru the tunnels, the PSD installed would be improving the air-conditioning facility in the underground metro stations. The current door system might not be that effective in terms of safety but it is now said that the PSD would improve the safety layer.
To install PSD in corridor 4, Mr. Rajesh Chaturvedi, director of systems & operations of CMRL has signed a contract worth Rs 100 crores. It is noteworthy that CMRL has awarded the contract ASA-10 for the supply of PSD for its corridor-4 of phase-2 project to m/s Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Cooperation Limited for Rs 100 crores. Point is that work would include a semi length PSD for 18 elevated metro stations from Poonamallee to Kodambakkam Power House plus full length PSD for 9 nine underground metro stations from Light House to Kodambakkam.
By the driverless signalling system of corridor-2, PSD would operate automatically. For the remaining corridors 3 and 5, the contracts are in the finalisation process. The CMRL wants to complete the entire work within 75 days.
