Greater Chennai Traffic Police latest sensational decision to seize all the vehicles of the offenders now

Be careful traffic rules offenders!! Your vehicle could be seized by the Greater Chennai Traffic Police or GCTP personnel if you don`t pay the fine amount after getting caught drunk while driving!!
The warning has been issued by the GTCP now and this is making news now. It is now said that warrants would be obtained from the courts to attach the vehicle. Till now, as many as 263 warrants have been issued. It is important that the public must follow all the traffic rules to avoid accidents etc.
Apart from the vehicle that is involved in the drunken driving offence, other vehicles of the owners would also be seized. It has been confirmed by an official release that 8912 drunken driving cases of the 28000 registered after the implementation of upgraded fine amounts are pending disposal. This is because many offenders do not turn up to pay their fines despite being informed on their mobile phones by the e-courts.
It was pointed out by a traffic police officer that a special drive conducted to inform the traffic violators about the pending cases through call centres would continue in the future also. According to the additional police commissioner, Traffic, Mr. Kapil C. Saratkar the police would carry out the threat.
