Corona test commences for all international flight passengers!

The system of checking 2% of international flight passengers for coronavirus infection has been resumed from today (Saturday, 24th December).!

The Central Ministry of Aviation announced that the testing of the passengers of international flights will commence today. The Ministry released a notification yesterday (Friday. 23rd December) regarding the procedure and guidelines.

As per this, from today morning (Saturday, 24th December), the Airport staff have commenced testing a few of the passengers for infection of coronavirus!

It may be noted at this juncture that the new version of coronavirus has been spreading fast and wide in countries including China and Japan. Subsequently, the Central Government has intensified the activities for testing as well as preventive measures against the spread! Especially, testing of international flight passengers has been intensified at the Airports!

As per this, in the international airports, not necessarily for each one, they pick the passengers on a random basis for testing for coronavirus infection! This had been announced by the central Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday (22nd December). In this situation, the Central Ministry of Aviation has released the guidelines for conducting the tests for the detection of the coronavirus on Friday, 23rd December!

As per this notification, a decision has been taken to test 2% of international flight passengers. This is scheduled to be implemented in all the International Airports in India from today (Saturday, 24th December).

The task of bringing the randomly selected international flight passenger will be undertaken by the flight staff! Passengers of different nationalities can be picked for the test. All the airlines have been strictly advised to instruct the guidelines to their staff!

 The concerned Airport Authorities MUST set up the required testing centre with all the facilities required! Once the testing is completed, the correct contact number and the address of the passenger MUST be ascertained

The testing charges incurred by the concerned passengers WILL BE REIMBURSED BY THE CENTRAL HEALTH MINISTRY! The concerned passenger must give the receipt for the same to the Airport authorities.

Once the testing is completed, the passengers can leave the airport!

In case coronavirus is confirmed on the test, this information MUST be immediately [passed on to the Integrated Disease monitoring centre. After this, the information MUST be passed on to the concerned state and the next steps for the treatment MUST be undertaken immediately! The sample from which the infection was detected MUST be s sent a gene test!

The above-detailed guideline has been sent to the DGCA – Director General Civil Aviation. Copies have been sent to all Airlines, International Airports States, and the Union Territories!

Following this, the random testing of international flight passengers, as explained above, has been undertaken has been implemented from today (Saturday, 24th December)
