As rainwater drainage system piping works are planned in the Anna Nagar area, certain traffic regulations have been changed effective from tomorrow (Thursday, 1ST December) for 14 days!
In a notification released by the Department of Chennai Traffic Police in this regard, it is mentioned:
Rainwater drainage system-related construction work has been undertaken by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) in linking the 6th Shadow Road between Thirumangalam 100` Road and Anna Nagar 3rd Shadow Road and digging and pip-laying activities have been undertaken.
This construction activity will be in progress from tomorrow (Thursday, 1st December) for 14 days until 14th December in 2 Phases. The first phase is set to be completed starting on 1st December and concluding on 7th December.
As such, from the Annan Nagar Police Station Junction, the vehicles proceeding towards Thirumangalam 100; Road will move to the junction of the 6th Shadow Road, and the 5th Shadow Road, turn left, and move via `Z` Block 13th Street to the 6th Shadow street and reach the 100; Road.
The vehicles proceeding from Thirumangalam 100` Road towards Anna Nagar Police Station Junction can move as usual via 6th Shadow Road.
The 2nd Phase of the rainwater drain activities is set to commence on 8th December and will conclude on 14th December. When this is in progress, the vehicles proceeding from Thirumangalam 100` Road to Anna Nagar Police Station Junction will move via 6th Shadow Road, X-G Block 14th Street Junction, turn left and move via Z Block 13th Street to the 6th Shadow Road and reach Anna Nagar Police Station Junction.
All vehicles proceeding from Anna Nagar Police Station Junction towards Thirumangalam 100` Road will move as usual via 6th Shadow Street."
