The hugely popular Deepam festival at the Lord Arunchaleswarar temple in Thiruvannamalai commenced yesterday (Sunday, 27th November) with the divine flag-hoisting ceremony!
Subsequent to the divine flag-hoisting ceremony, the idols of the Panchamurthys were brought to the 16-pillar Mandapam at 10.00 AM to offer Darshan to the devotees!
After this, the idols of Lord Arunchaleswarar and His Divine Consort Goddess Unnamulai Amman were taken on a procession in the `Velli Vimanam` (Silver Carriage) and the deities of Lord Vinayaka, Goddess Parasakthi Amman, Lord Subramanya, and Chandikeswarar were carried on a glass carriage on a procession offering Darshan to a large number of devotees!
