Sabarimalai Lord Sri Ayyappan Temple: Darshan timings extended!

As the number of devotees visiting Sabarimalai for the occasion of Mandala Pooja and Makara Vilakku Poojas increased enormously high, the temple administration

Has announced changes in Darshan`s timings!

As per the prevailing Darshan system, it was from 3.00 AM to 1.00 PM in the forenoon session and 4.00 PM to 12.00 Midnight in the afternoon session.

However, since the inflow of devotees has increased enormously during this current period, an official from the temple administration informed us that the afternoon Darshan timing will commence at 3.00 PM instead of the present 4.00 PM.

He further shared:

"Since the temple corridors were opened on 16th November, over 3 Lakh devotees had Darshan until Monday evening (21st November)!

On Monday, Over 70000 devotees and Tuesday over 60000 devotees had booked ONLINE for Darshan.

As such, we have decided to advance the time for Darshan in the afternoon session from the usual 4.00 PM to 3.00 PM."

Kerala Dewaswom Minister Radahakrishnn shared:

"Due to the raging impact of the coronavirus pandemic in the last 2 years, with the imposed restrictions, only 3000 devotees visited daily for Darshan. However, presently, there is no restriction imposed currently on the number of devotees! As such, we can expect the number of devotees visiting to increase by 40%-50%!

The Mandala Poojai which commenced on 17th November for a 41-days pooja schedule is set to conclude on 27th December.

After that, the temple corridors will open again for the Makara Vilakku Poojai on 30th December. Makara Vilakku Pooja will conclude on 14th January 2023. After this, the temple corridors will close on 20th January!"
