Rains are to persist in Chennai today as well (14th Nov)! Prospects for rain in 9 districts for 4 days!!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed us that there are prospects for heavy rain today (Monday, 14th November) in 9 districts in Tamil Nadu!

In a notification released in this regard by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, it is mentioned:

"Due to the cyclonic format prevailing over the upper layers of the atmosphere over Tamil Nadu, there are prospects for widespread mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal.

There are prospects for heavy rains in the districts of Theni, Dindigul, Madurai and Virudhunagar and prospects for heavy rain in the districts of Ramanathapuram, Thenkasi, Thoothukkudi, Thirunelveli, and Kanyakumari.

14th & 15th November:

There are prospects for widespread mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in T=amil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal.

As regards Chennai Metro City and its suburbs:

The sky will remain mostly cloudy in the next 48 hours! There are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in a few parts of the city.

The maximum temperature will be 32 Degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 25 Degrees Celsius.

The maximum rainfall recorded in cm in the last 24 hours in Tamil Nadu: Oothukkottai 9, Valinosam 7, Vedaranyam, Chozhapuram, Thirumurthy Dam, Vaalparai, and Ullurpettai - 5 each.

For Fishermen:

Very high-speed winds at 40-45 kmph and intermittently at 55 kmph are likely to blow across the Southwest Arabian Sea adjacent to Lakhdiv and Maldives parts and Kanyakumari Ocean areas,  As such, fishermen are warned NOT to venture into the sea in these areas!
