Central Transport and Highway Minister: Penalty of Rs. 1000/- for those not wearing seatbelts in the back!!

The Central Minister for Highways and Transport, Nitin Gadkari, has announced that henceforth, a penalty of Rs. 1000/- will be levied on the passengers failing to wear seatbelts on the back seats!

Former Chairman of Tata Sons, Cyrus Mistry, died in an accident on Sunday (4th September)  in Mumbai. He was returning from Ahmadabad to Mumbai in a Benz car.

Anajitha Pandora and her husband Dariel Pandople were seated in the front seats.

Cyrus Mistry and Jehangir Pandole (brother of Dariel Pandole) were seated in the back seats.

At around 3.00 PM, when the car tried to overtake another car from the left side of the Surya River over the bridge in Balkar (Maharashtra State) driven at high-speed, it crashed against the road barrier!

Cyrus Mistry and Jehangir Pandole, seated on the backside, died instantly. It was found that BOTH OF THEM DID NOT WEAR SEAT-BELTS!

In this regard, the Central Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, while speaking on an English TV channel, observed, "The Law that those travelling in backseats MUST wear seat belts is already exciting! However, most of the citizens do not follow this!

Henceforth, the cars will be designed to give a siren alarm for not wearing seatbelts in the back seat! This provision is already available for a siren in case of not wearing seatbelts on the front seat!

THOSE WHO VIOLATE THIS RULE BY NOT WEARING SEAT-BEALT WHILE SEATED AT THE BACKSIDE, WILL BE IMPOSED WITH A PENALTY OF Rs. 1000/-!!

Note that earning money through this penalty IS NOT THE OBJECTIVE HERE!

THE MAIN TARGET IS TO REDUCE ROAD ACCIDENTS IN INDIA BY 50% BEFORE 2024!

As such, a penalty of Rs. 1000/- will be levied on those who fail to wear seatbelts while sitting in the back seat of the vehicles!

Though the state governments also have control over this, there would be no issues in implementing this latest penalty!

PLEASE! THE PUBLIC NEED NOT GET CARRIED WITH THE THOUGHT THAT THE TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT CAN BE EASILY CHEATED! NOTE THAT MONITORING CAMERAS ARE INSTALLED IN MOST PLACES!

The facility of installing airbags in the backseats as well is being earnestly reviewed and will be done! Though the price of the vehicle may go up after this provision of airbags in the back seats, NOTE HERE THAT HUMAN LIVES HAVE NO COSTS!

Presently, each airbag costs Rs. 1000/-. If 6 airbags are installed in a single car, it will cost Rs. 6000/-. However, the production of airbags will go up this is likely to reduce the price of the airbag!

Presently, it is MANDATORY TO HAVE SEAT-BELTS ON THE FRONT-SEATS OF THE VEHICLE!

However, the government has emphasized the installation of 6 airbags in an 8-seater vehicle right from January 2022!

Our Ministry has commenced campaigns with celebrities to create more awareness among the public regarding road-safety measures!

I appeal here that all the social networking media also MUST DO THEIR CONTRIBUTORY EFFORTS!

I am stressed at the accidental death of Cyrus Mistry! - At the same time, WE MUST LEARN OUR LESSONS FROM THIS TRAGEDY!!"
