Chennai Metro City - Parrys Corner: 130 shops owned by Greater Chennai Corporation sealed!

There are 400 shops owned by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) in Parry`s Corner located in Rattan Bazaar and Brazer Bridge Road.
It is learnt that out of these 400 shops, 130 shops have not been paying the rent to Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC).
Subsequently, Notice has been served to the shop occupiers on behalf of GCC about the unpaid rent for a long time!
Even then, the rents were not paid by these shops!
The pending total rent for these 130 shops is Rs. 40 Lakhs!
As such, the officials of the Greater Chennai Corporation have sealed these shops!
The officials emphasized that in case the arrears rent is paid by cheque by these shop occupiers, the seal will be removed!
