Electric Vehicles charging stations in TN - Whats the latest??

For the EV or electric vehicles charging in the state of TN, Tangedco or Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company would be floating a tender. For opening EV charging stations, 100 locations have been identified across the highways. This was confirmed by Mr. V. Senthil Balaji, electricity minister for Tamil Nadu.
It was brought out by the office of the electricity minister that the Central power ministry has given sanctions for setting up of 256 electric charging stations in the state of TN. As many as 151 EV charging stations have been in operation now. It must be noted that this included both the private sector as well as the public sector like Corporations etc.
It is necessary that an electric vehicle charging station must be present for every 25kms in the highways. Point is that the roads and the charging stations must be located atleast 3kms distance from the electrical substations.
The TN state government has appointed the nodal agency Tangedco to ensure that each EV charging station has necessary facilities like waiting rooms, parking spaces plus safety arrangements, wash rooms, drinking water dispensers etc. A detailed project report or DPR has already been submitted by Tangedco and after the TN govt gave its approval Tangedco would be floating tenders online.
