In Chennai, what has happened now regarding sharing Aadhar card details is shocking?

It is known that the election department of GCC have been busy in collecting the Aadhar card details of the voters in Chennai.

Out of a total of 39.06lakHs voters in Chennai just 4419 have shared their Aadhaar card details with the election officials belonging to the GCC. This corresponds to 0.1percent of the voters.

It was mentioned by the election officers that the public could also submit 1 identity card such as driving license, PAN card or bank passbook instead of their Aadhaar card. Soon, GCC would be taking efforts to conduct an awareness programme to get the details or photocopy of any of the 11 identity cards permitted by the Election Commission of India.

In Chennai, in online modes like NVSP, Vportal and VHA as many as 1370 electors have shared their Aadhaar or other identity card details. In the Dr .Radhakrishnan Nagar Assembly constituency, the highest number of electors have shared their Aadhaar card details with election officers from GCC. Hera around 0.58percent of the 2.5lakh electors has submitted their Aadhaar numbers.

Information collected is that in the Perambur Assembly constituency 0.55% of the 3.01lakh electors have shared their Aadhaar card details. Just 0.015% of electors belonging to Anna Nagar and Thiru Vi Ka Nagar have submitted their Aadhaar card details. To get the Aadhaar details of the electors, a meeting would be conducted with the political parties.

It must not be forgotten that many political parties have objected to the collection of these details because of the fact that many names would be deleted erroneously after the collection of details.
