The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed us that there are prospects for heavy rain in 6 Tamil Nadu districts today (Saturday, 6th August)!
In a notification released in this regard by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, it is mentioned:
"Due to the change in the western winds, there are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Kanyakumari, Thirunelveli, Dindigul, Thenkasi, Themi, North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikkal.
There are prospects for heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Nilgiri, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Tirupur, and Thenkasi.
As regards Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain somewhat cloudy in the next 48 hours. There are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in 1 or 2 places! The maximum temperature will be 34 Degrees Celsius and the minimum, be 26-27 Degree Celsius.
Maximum rainfall of 32cm in Avalanchi, 20 cm in Mel Bhavani, and 14 cm in Pathanur Taluk Post Office have been recorded.
High-speed winds of 45 to 55 kmph are likely to blow across So, fishermen are warned not to venture into the sea in these areas!
