What is the reason behind the sudden panic in Teynampet?

Posted on: 05/Aug/2022 9:29:04 AM
There was a sudden panic at the metro station in Teynampet yesterday and the commuters were in a shocked state. The reason for that was due to a warning message that requested the commuters to leave the station immediately as the metro station would be closed for safety.

It was later brought out by a passenger that 2 minutes after he reached the Teynampet metro station a message was displayed asking the commuters to leave the station immediately. This created chaos at the metro station as the public tried to go out as fast as possible. He then mentioned that the passengers were pacified by the CMRL staff and they asked the passengers to board the metro trains. Truth is that after a fire alarm made a signal at the metro station, the message was displayed. It was later revealed that it was a false alarm.

Signalling issues for the metro trains running late:

On Thursday morning, many passengers complained about the metro trains running slow during the peak hours in the morning. The metro trains stopped between the stations and it irritated many passengers. There were repeated announcements that were made by CMRL through the intercoms present inside the trains.

According to a passenger who uses metro trains to reach his office, signalling issues in the peak office hours would be highly irritating. He added that the employees face the issue of loss of pay for reporting late to work. It was pointed out by the sources from CMRL that because of an issue the metro train stopped at LIC for more than an hour on Thursday and this delayed other metro trains too. Point is that the metro trains were running on a single line only. Sources from CMRL have highlighted that on 22nd June also trains from Washermanpet metro station to Central metro station were running late because of signalling issues.
