GCC Announces: Mask is mandatory in Theatres, Commercial Complexes, and Malls from today

 To prevent the fast spreading of the current wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has announced that wearing face masks is mandatory for the public in cinema theatres, Commercial Complexes, and Malls from today (Tuesday, 5th July)!

In a notification released by the Greater Chennai Corporation in this regard, it is mentioned:

"Various initiatives are being undertaken by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) to prevent the fast spreading of the latest wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the areas under its jurisdiction!

Especially, Vaccination camps and special intensive mega vaccination camps are being organised for all the citizens to get vaccinated!

Especially during the last 2 weeks, the spread of the coronavirus has been quite fast and intense! As such, all citizens MUST wear face masks! Especially, the citizens visiting places like commercial complexes MUST wear face masks and MUST keep social distancing!

As per the guidelines given by the Department of Public Health, intense awareness programmes are being organised to keep the public aware of this aspect!

So, the commercial complexes MUST avoid public crowding and also ensure that the public keeps social distancing!

The establishments such as film theatres, commercial complexes, textile shops, and malls MUST ensure that their employees and the visiting public wear face masks!

Further, every individual must protect against corona infection by wearing face masks when venturing out!

MOST OF ALL, THE PUBLIC MUST EXTEND WHOLE-HEARTED COOPERATION FOR THE VARIOUS PREVENTIVE ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN BY THE GREATER CHENNAI CORPORATION (GCC)!"
