State Minister for Higher Education: Candidates can apply to join Polytechnic courses from today (23rd June)!!

The Minister for Higher Education of the Tamil Nadu State Government, Ponmudi, has announced that interested students can apply for the Polytechnic courses which offer diplomas in engineering faculties from today (Thursday, 23rd June)!
The State Minister for Higher Education visited and inspected the various avenues through that Help Centre for joining the engineering courses at Guindy Engineering College.
After the inspection of the Help Centre, Minister Ponmudi had a session with the press reporters. He observed:
“42716 candidates have applied to join engineering courses until yesterday (Wednesday, 22nd June)! There are 1.5 Lakh seats offered for the graduate engineering courses.
Candidates interested in joining the Diploma Course in engineering faculties offered by polytechnics can apply to join from today (Tuesday, 23rd June) until 8th July!
Candidates who have completed these polytechnic courses are eligible to directly join the 2nd year for the graduate engineering degree courses! This facility is being introduced this year!
It is learnt that the CBSE results are to be announced by the end of July! In case this is delayed further, there would be a subsequent delay in students joining graduate engineering courses!
Once CBSE results are announced, the last date for applying for graduate engineering courses will be extended by 5 more days!”
