Know about this punishment from the Commercial Tax department regarding non- payment of tax amount in TN!!

Following warnings given by the commerce department, Rs 64 crores has been collected from 22430 traders. This was revealed by Mr. Panindra Reddy. According to his announcement it was clear that 3.25 lakh traders did not pay even a single rupee in the last financial year 2021-22. It was found out that about 94 lakhs traders have paid less than Rs 1000 as goods and services taxes.
It must be noted that the commercial taxes department has sent emails to the traders to check their business tax account and pay their tax amount. It is now brought to light that the emails have been successful as 22430 traders have paid Rs 64 crores as their business taxes amount to the government. Truth is that this has even encouraged the non-tax payers to pay their tax amount.
It is important to note that those traders who haven’t paid their taxes till now have been advised to check their tax account immediately and pay the tax amount that was unpaid. By this they could avoid penalties as well as the interest amount etc. It is noteworthy that if any tax evasion was identified by the business tax department then along with tax money both penalty as well as interest would be collected.
