Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022 - Tamil Nadus participation in the Indias first ever drone fest in Delhi

To boost India’s drone industry, a drone fest would be held in Delhi at Pragati Maidan on Friday. The sensational piece of information that has emerged out is that drones from Tamil Nadu would be showcased at the Bharat Drone Mahotsav. Prime minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi would be inaugurating this drone fest. It is learnt that this upcoming drone fest would be the congregation of all the stakeholders from the drone industry.  

It is noteworthy that Chennai based Anna University or AU has developed 2 drones and e-Plane (IIT-Madras incubated company) has developed a drone taxi. These would be showcased in the drone fest 2022.

The director for centre for aerospace research of Anna University Mr. K. Senthil Kumar atleast 7 drones have been selected across India and these drones would be displayed and demonstrated in the 2 day event. He added that atleast 2 drones have been developed by Anna University.

Out of 2 drones developed by AU one is a pesticide sprayer and the other one is a tethered drone constructed for the VIP security purpose. This tethered drone is a hexacopter and it would be displayed for the very first time in the presence of the PM of India.

Features of Hexacopter drone:

Hexacoper has got cable facilitating power supply and data transfer and stabilised camera. It is superb to note that this drone has the capacity to fly continuously for 24 hours and it would be suited for VIP security surveillance purposes. It is now revealed that orders in bulk would be got for the products.

Information gathered is that around 1600 delegates comprising government officials, foreign diplomats, members form Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces, staff from public sector undertakings, staff from many private organisations, important persons from drone start-ups etc would be taking part.
