Importance of the PM of Indias visit to Chennai on 26th May has been revealed now!!

The DMK government assumed office in the month of May in the year 2021 is known to us. The news that has come out is that the prime minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi would be coming to Chennai to inaugurate several projects. It is now said that this visit of PM to Chennai would be the first since the DMK government assumed office.

On 26th of May 2022, the prime minister of India would be coming to Chennai and the event has been scheduled to commence at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium at 5:45 pm in the evening. It is learnt that the prime minister would be laying the foundation stone for 11 projects. These projects would be worth a mammoth amount of Rs31400 crores. As the PM would be coming to Chennai, the security arrangements have been beefed up.

It is worthy to note that the prime minister would be dedicating to the nation the 4 railway projects implemented at a cost of over Rs 2900 crores. These are 75km in length Madurai -Theni( Railway Gauge Conversion Project) constructed at a cost of more than Rs 500 crores,30km line between Tambaram and Chengalpet built at a cost of more than Rs 590 crores, 115km Ennore- Chengalpet section at a cost of Rs 850 crores and 271km Thiruvallur- Bengaluru section of a natural gas pipeline at a  cost of Rs 910 crores. Inauguration of 1152 houses would be witnessed by the prime minister of India. Point is that these houses have been constructed as a part of Light House project-Chennai at a cost of Rs 116 crores under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana –Urban.

It is noteworthy that the PM would also be inaugurating 6 projects being constructed at a mammoth cost of Rs 28500 crores. At more than Rs 14870 crores, Chennai-Bengaluru expressway project would be laid. This project would be of superb benefit as it would reduce the travel time between Chennai and Bengaluru by 2 to 3 hours.

At a cost of Rs 5850 crores, the four lane double - decker elevated road between Chennai port and Maduravoyal NH-4 of about 21km in length would be laid. Release from PIB mentioned that foundation stone laying of 94 km 4 lane Nehraluru to Dharmapuri section of NH-844 being built at a cost of around Rs 3870 crores plus a 31km 2 lane with paved shoulders of Meensurutti to Chidambaram section of NH-227 been built at a cost of Rs 720 crores etc. It is pointed out that in the future there would be seamless connectivity in the region.

During the event, the foundation stone for the re-development of 5 railway stations such as Egmore, Kanniyakumari, Katpadi, Madurai and Rameshwaram would also be laid.
