Posted on: 24/May/2022 12:42:43 PM
The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that the extent of heat will be higher than the average expected level for 2 days in several districts including Chennai.

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre informed further that due to the onset of the southwest monsoon rainy season and the change in the direction and strength of the winds, the intensity of heat will persist!

With this years summer has been more scorching in March & April, it will continue in May as well and the extent of heat will be normal in Tamil Nadu and the southern peninsula as well.

As regards Tamil Nadu, the intensity of the heat was lesser than what was experienced in March and April due to the advent of summer rains and the cyclone Asani!

As the climate is tending to be more conducive to the onset of the southwest monsoon rainy season, the summer rain is slowly reducing in Tamil Nadu!

Even as the prospects for rain are reducing, the intensity of heat has risen! As the wind blowing from the East to the State of Tamil Nadu is rather weak, the intensity of heat is felt higher!

Especially in the northern districts of Tamil Nadu State including Chennai, the temperature is higher by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius as recorded. As this is likely to continue for the next 2 days, the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed us that the intensity of heat is likely to continue!
