Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin inaugurates the 124th Grand Flower Show at Ooty (Udhagamandalam) at the Ooty Government Botanical Park!
It is a tradition to organise a Summer Festival in Nilgiri every year!
On the occasion of this summer festival, thousands of visitors arrive at Ooty to enjoy the Summer Festival not only from the other districts in Tamil Nadu, and other states in India but also from various countries across the globe!!
As a part of the Summer Festival, the hugely popular grand flower show will also be organised. As such, the 124th Flower show is all set to commence today (Friday, 20th May) at the Ooty Government Botanical Garden.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin inaugurates the Grand Flower Show at 10.00 AM today (Friday, 20th May)! State Ministers and several senior officials are participating in this event.
With a view to attracting the touring visitors, 275 varieties of 5.5 Lakhs flowers including Geranium and Cyclamen are being displayed!
Further, the flower plants planted earlier at the Exhibition Floor and the Glass Palace have started blooming at their best with whole lots of flowers!!
On the floor where these plants are exhibited, the flower plants have been neatly arranged in an attractive presentation for the visitors.
As special attrition of the Grand Flower Show, the Coimbatore Agricultural University has arranged a fabulous display of flower arrangements made to represent 200 different art forms!!
Further, special decorations have been made with Williams and other flowers.
As a special avenue for celebrating the inaugural function of the Grand Ooty Flower Show, floral arrangements are on display with flowers imported from other places. Flower arrangements using Goy flower, a collection of rare flower plants, the different varieties of a single kind of flower, etc., are being displayed for the visitors!
