Who would like to travel on the Pallavaram radial road in Chennai?

This important road in South Chennai has become very narrow now with many parked vehicles, puncture repair shops plus others like eateries, tea shops etc. It is true that there is always a bottleneck present in this important road and during the weekends this becomes worse.

A resident belonging to Keelkattalai spoke about how nearly half the road has been dug up for laying water pipes and there are no warning signs also and the motorists were at a huge risk of falling into trenches in the night time. More issue has been due to the vehicles that have been parked on the narrow street. On either side of the road, many construction vehicles and trucks are also parked and the road width has narrowed. Even after delivering the materials, the trucks do not leave the place.

It was brought out by Mr. David an activist that many IT companies along the stretch have asked their employees to leave their vehicles on the path outside the office. It is noteworthy that the residents here have paid a heavy price for the expansion work on the Pallavaram- Thoraipakkam radial road. The street lights have been damaged and the issue won`t get solved soon.

Truth is that the arterial road connects the airport in Meenambakkam with the IT corridor in OMR but it is highly risky for the motorists to travel in this 2km stretch now. In 2021, 2 motorists died in separate accidents here and many minor accidents take place regularly.
