As the grand divine chariot procession festival is to be celebrated at Thiruporur Kandaswamy Temple as a part of the Brahmotsavam in the Tamil Calendar Month of Masi, certain changes in the traffic regulation have been made in OMR (Old Mahabalipuram Road).

The grand Chariot Procession festival is scheduled to be performed tomorrow (Sunday, 13th February).

As a precautionary measure that there should not be any traffic congestion during the divine chariot procession, certain changes have been made in traffic in OMR.

The vehicles coming via Mamallapuram, Alandur can proceed via Girivalam route to Kalavakkam and then join at OMR.

Vehicles coming via Chengalpattu, Alandur will be stopped at the city border.

For the vehicles coming from Chennai via Kelambakkam to the temple via OMR, arrangements have been made for these vehicles to take a new urban outer road to reach the temple.

Further, to prevent excessive jostling crowds and associated and associated issues, Police will be deployed as Security under the leadership of Mamallapuram Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagadeeswaran.
