BAPASI (Booksellers and Publishers’ Association of India) has announced that the visitors to the Chennai Book Fair can register in advance ONLINE from 6th February (Sunday, tomorrow).

Chennai Book Fair was originally scheduled to be conducted in January but was postponed because of the prevailing third wave of the coronavirus pandemic and its variant Omicron. However, as the extent/impact of the spread has abated considerably since the last few days, relaxations have been announced by the State Government of Tamil Nadu.

In this scenario, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has granted permission to conduct the Chennai Book Fair. As per this, Chennai Book Fair will be conducted from 16th February till 6th March.

Further, instructions have been given to strictly follow the guidelines for the prevention of the coronavirus spread.

To prevent unnecessary crowding at the ticket counters, the State Government of Tamil Nadu had recommended the ONLINE sales of the Book Fair Tickets.

As such, ONLINE booking for visiting the Chennai Book Fair can be done by visiting the website: https://bapasi.com/ as per the announcement made by the Booksellers And Publishers ‘ Association of South India.

BAPASI has further informed that this arrangement has been made to prevent the standing in a queue and buying the tickets and the price of the ticket is Rs. 10/-.

Earlier, BAPASI had visited the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin at the Chief Secretariat appealing that the Chennai Book Fair MUST be allowed to be conducted every year in February-March.
