On Tuesday, 1st February, the online semester examinations for the students studying arts, sciences and engineering courses in TamilNadu took place. It must be noted that most of the colleges that reopened yesterday did not conduct physical classes for the students.

It was already announced by the HEI that the pending semester exams that were supposed to be held in January would take place from 1st to 20th of February 2022.Elaborate arrangements were made by the state run universities and colleges and by many self-financing institutions etc for downloading the question papers and monitoring the participation of the students for the semester examinations from Tuesday onwards.

Many students do not have internet facilities at their homes and these students thronged the browsing centres to download the question papers. Most of the students were given one hour to download the question papers and they completed that on time. This was according to a senior officer belonging to the higher education department. The students were helped by the professors when the students had trouble in downloading the question papers.

In 2021, the students were penalised when they delayed downloading the question papers or when they were late in submission of answer scripts to the institutions. This time, the students were not penalised.
