Tamil Nadu State Health Minister: Counselling for admission to medical graduate courses to commence on 27th January at Chennai Omandhurar Hospital!

Tamil Nadu State Minister for Health, Ma. Subramanian has announced that the counselling for admission to the medical graduation courses MBBS & BDS will be conducted at the Chennai Government Omandhurar Multi-Speciality Hospital from 27th January.
The applications for pursuing medical graduation courses MBBS & BDS were distributed from 19th December until 10th January.
Subsequently, The Tamil Nadu State Health Minister released the rank or merit list of the above candidates yesterday (Monday, 24th January).
In this regard, a total of 25593 applications have been received from the candidates. Out of this, the number of applications eligible for scrutiny was 24949.
The number of applicants who had studied under the Stat6e Government of Tamil Nadu Syllabus is 16029.
The number of candidates who study under the CBSE Syllabus is 8453.
With the merit list having just been released, the counselling for the special category candidates for admission to join medical graduation courses MBBS & BDS is scheduled to be conducted on 27th January.
Out of these, 76 applications have been received on the 5% quota for the differently-abled candidates. 156 applications have been received for the Sports Specialists category. 360 candidates have applied UNder the category of the heirs of ex-military personnel. 10 seats for the BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) course will be reserved for this.
534 seats have been specially allotted for the candidates who studied in government schools. Out of these, 437 will be MBBS course seats and 97 seats will be for BDS.
For the courses commencing this year, 5175 seats are available in the government medical colleges and 200 seats are available in the 2 government Dental Colleges.
4319 MBBS seats and 170 BDS seats are allotted for the State Quota, Out of these, 324 MBBS seats and 13 BDS seats are allotted for the candidates who studied in Government Schools as per the 7.5% quota.
Out of the seats available in the 18 private medical colleges, 2650 seats for the MBBS course and 1760 seats from the BDS course have been allotted for the State Quota.
For the 7.5% quota of seats for the government school students, 115 seats for the MBBS course and 84 seats for the BDS course are allotted in the self-financed medical colleges.
