Lockdown in Tamil Nadu - prospects of stopping bus services to other states!

Quite shockingly, there has been an increasing trend in the spread of the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic in Tamil Nadu over the past weeks!

Coronavirus spread on the third wave has been quite rampant in the neighbouring states of Karnataka, Andhra, and Kerala as well!’ As such, it is gathered that there are prospects for the inter-state bus services to be stopped!

The number of infected citizens has been on the rise in Tamil Nadu! Over the last 24 hours alone, it is gathered that over 26000 citizens in the State of Tamil Nadu have been affected! As if this is not enough, on the other side, the number of infections with the Omicron variant of coronavirus has also been on the rise!

In the neighbouring state of Kerala, over the last 24 hours, more than 34000 citizens have been confirmed with coronavirus infection. As regards Andhra, the average daily infection rate is over 10000 citizens!

Similarly, in Karnataka as well, more than 20000 citizens are confirmed with coronavirus infection!

Presently, buses are still being operated from these states to Tamil Nadu and from the State of Tamil Nadu to these 3 states. Both the State Government Sector and the private sector operate these buses.

There are stronger prospects for the increased spread of the third wave of coronavirus from the States of Kerala and Karnataka!

Giving due importance to this aspect, it is learnt that the State Government of Tamil Nadu has decided to stop the inter-state bus services for some time!

As is it a rather difficult task to check each passenger, it is learnt that the senior officials have recommended to the government it would be better to stop the inter-state bus services temporarily.

It is also expected that the announcement regarding this will be made shortly!
