From 2020 onwards, people across the world have been under constant stress due to the Coronavirus pandemic.  Now, the Omicron variant of Coronavirus has been spreading like fire across the world and the cases have been increasing at an alarming rate.

The health experts and others have already mentioned that the Omicron variant would not create severe health issues for the people. Truth is that this new variant is not affecting the respiratory tract of a person but it is affecting the stomach leading to many issues. Not only in those who are not vaccinated, even in those who have been vaccinated stomach based symptoms have been identified now.

In the normal circumstances, those affected with Coronavirus infection would have fever, body pain, loss of smell/taste etc only. Many people lose their lives due to respiratory issues. Now with Omicron variant affected persons, these symptoms were not found but other symptoms like back pain, stomach pain, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea etc were found. This was brought to light by the director of Pulmonology Dr. Manoj Goel belonging to the Delhi based Fortis Memorial Research Institute.

He hinted that the formation of certain types of acid in the stomach has been responsible for the stomach based issues in the Omicron variant affected patients. It is learnt that those who had 2 doses of vaccination are also coming to this hospital for treatment after getting stomach based issues. These patients after testing have been diagnosed with Coronavirus infection. The doctor later spoke about how persons who have vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite etc must get them tested without fail plus have to self isolate them also. These persons must eat easily digestible foods only and avoid spicy foods etc. Point is that the persons even without fever etc but with the above said symptoms must visit the nearby hospital compulsorily for testing.
