Sakthimaalai Irumudi festival commences at Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Siddhar Peetam!

The Head of the Aadhi Parasakthi Spiritual Movement, Lakshmi Bangui Adigalar, inaugurated the ‘Sakthimaalai Irumudi’ festival for the year 2022 at the Melmaruvathur Aadhi Parasakthi Siddhar Peetam yesterday (Monday, 13th December).
It has been a tradition for several decades to perform the ‘Sakthimaalai Irumudi’ festival every year at the Melmaruvathur Aadhi Parasakthi Siddhar Peetam.
As such, the ‘Sakthimaalai Irumudi’ festival for the year 2022, having commenced yesterday (Monday, 13th December) is scheduled to be performed until 17th January.
For this event, the devotees wore the Sakthimaalai before the Thaippoosam Jyothi festival and observe Sakthi Viratham and carry ‘Irumudi’ for Goddess Aadhi Parasakthi Amman and perform special Abhishekham for the Swayampu idol of the Goddess.
The devotees of men, women, and children observe penance for 3 or 5 days as families and perform the Irumudi penance as a tradition.
Subsequently, the ‘Thaippoosam Jyothi’ Festival is to be celebrated on a grand scale on 18th January.
In this background, the Irumudi Festival commenced yesterday at 3.00 AM (Monday, 13th December) with divine devotional music (Mangala Isai). Nature Worship was performed at the Karuvarai Mandapam at 6.00 AM
Subsequently, Lakshmi Bangaru Adigalar inaugurated the Irumudi Abhishekham at 6.15 AM.
Southern Railway is set to operate many special trains for this festival!
Further, many express trains passing Melmaruvathur are also stopping here!
